Sneak Peek....

I'm heading back to my old Stampin ground (literally) of Stamford, Lincs this weekend and holding a class for the lovely ladies at AJ's and thought I would share with you a sneak peek of a card or two we will be doing this Sat.

The ladies wanted to centre the class around the Bigshot and the different techniques you can acheive with it. The bright eyed amongst you will spot the technique used on this card but  if you're not familiar with it why not get in touch and let me come and show you and your friends just how easy it is.

I'm running classes in Stamford every other month for those of you that way on and I also do classes the first Saturday of the month at my home in Mablethorpe. Along side that I also do workshops in your home for you and your friends so why not email me at stampinmermaid@hotmail.com to find out how I can help you .

Where is time going???

It always amazes me just how quickly the days can fly by and before you know it 3 weeks have passed.

I was hoping to get more blogging done but as many of you will know I have had a hectic time with another retreat weekend and then a trip to Italy.

Since getting back it's been non stop here and although I've been crafting I have to confess that while the card stock has always been SU (there is no better in my opinion) I have been using other stamps.

Fear not though I am back to embracing all things SU and to that end made this cute card for the Nutty ones birthday last Tues.
Everything used here apart from the letters used to spell out 'Nutty' is SU product.
i used Always Artichoke, Soft Suede and Naturals Ivory. The cute little guy is punch art and was from a video on you tube (link to follow when I remember where I put it lol) .

I hope you enjoyed todays card.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Wow, what a week this has been!

I've mostly been cleaning this week getting ready for our retreat guests arriving tomorrow. It's never an easy job in this house at the best of times. We are still in renovation mode and so there are 101 jobs that need doing and I feel like I am always chasing my tail just to keep on top of things but even more so with a lively almost 2yr old in tow!

I still managed to find a little crafting time (ok so its my self confessed bribe to motivate me to do the yucky jobs) and came up with this...

I can't take the credit for the design of the card as it was one I pinned to my Inspiration Station on Pintrest but I did change up a few bits here and there to give it a touch of me. The original was made by Katecap over at In Love With Stamping. You can see I added ribbon instead of a punched card layer and also added some So Saffron.
This would make a great card for any occasion.

I'm sure I won't get a chance to blog over the weekend but I hope you all have a good one whatever you are doing. Be sure to check back early next week to see how the ladies got on at the retreat weekend.

Retreat Weekend is upon us...

Finally the 2nd retreat weekend is almost here.

Following the success of our first weekend last Nov, Sandra and I are holding another fun filled weekend at my house this coming Fri, Sat and Sun.
All the ladies are new to us and I'm looking forward to sharing our love of the Stampin Up products and crafting in general.
We have lots of lovely projects planned aswell as each of the ladies getting their free stamp sets and some extra goodies.

I have been busy working on the pillow gifts which I will be back to show you once the weekend is over so as not to spoil things for the ladies.

If any of you are intersted in future weekends with fun filled projects, freebies and friends don't hesitate to contact me.

Till the next time

More Mermaid Moments...

Hello and Happy Tuesday to you all...

I don't have a project to share with you today but I just wanted to let you know about my new blog Mermaid Moments.

I am keeping this blog and hope you will continue to follow me here for all your Stampin Up needs and inspiration.

My new blog is a more personal insight into my Mermaid Moments although it will still feature crafty projects, mostly those where the images are non Stampin Up.

I do hope you enjoy being part of my new venture and look forward to seeing you over at Meramid Moments.

I made it...!

Firstly let me say Happy New Year to you all.

To be fair I made it out of my craft room some time ago but was sooooo busy moving into my new room there just wasn't time to post.

I'm happily settled in there now and the creative mojo has returned (think it got lost in all the 'stuff' that was in the girls den).

Its been a long time coming and not so much a "labour of love" for my other half but he persevered and without too much fuss. Here he is levelling the floor prior to tiling. Let me just say buying an old house to do up seems like a good idea till you realise nothing is straight or level!!!
After bucket loads of self levelling compound ( a misnomer, as it certainly doesn't self level lol), he finally was ready to tile.

Fully tiled and ready to go!

I was soooooo excited last fri when we got to this stage that I didn't sleep too well that night and was like a kid at Christmas waiting to move the shelves etc in.

So from this...............

With a little help from Caiden.......

I finally ended up with this......

Its still a work in progress and believe me you do not want to know how much stash is still stored upstairs but I finally have my own place to go and escape the madness that living in a house with 4 kids and 2 huskys brings.

A HUGE thank you to my gorgeous OH who has never once moaned despite being nagged by not just myself but Jeannie via Skype to fnish the room.

Till next time

I'm going in...

..... to my craft room that is and I may be some time lol!!!

This year was our turn to have a delayed Christmas as my girls went to their Dads for the actual day and we had our Christmas day yesterday. My parents came to stay for a few days and so the den, which is currently my craft room, has slowly filled up with boxes, wrapping paper and general stuff.

It's time to enter the room of gloom and clean it all up again so I can actually do some stampin!!!

I promised pics of my favourite projects of 2011 and Santa was very kind to me this year and left an all singing, all dancing digital camera under the tree which will make taking pics a much more enjoyable process than before.

As long as the room doesnt eat me alive I promise to be back later with pics of projects and who knows maybe even a before and after shot of the disgraceful den.

I just want to wish you all a Happy New Year and may all your resolutions be crafty ones!!
