WOYWW

Another week has flown by and here we are again on Wednesday which can only mean one thing,,,

WOYWW

It's been a busy desk this week. As you can see it's had a little reshuffle. Naughty Kitties were using my laptop as a stepping stool to get to the windowsill and I was worried they would topple it so I had to move it to the other side. You can just about make out Jeannie on the screen waving to you all from sunny Italy. Just in front of the inkpads is a fathers day card I finished for my little boy to give his Daddy this weekend and to the left is a whole host of goodies...
These are the goodies and they form a collection of room gifts for the B&B which is just next door. Carol who owns the B&B started crafting when she saw me making a Christmas card but is still learning so every year I make up the gifts for her Guestrooms. There are bottle tags, Tea Caddy (top centre), a caddy for coffee, milk, sugar etc(front left). Front right is a caddy to hold shower gels and shampoos etc and the Pillow box is holding a small sewing kit. Wouldn't you just love to see the room gifts packaged so nicely in every hotel you stayed in? All this going on this week didn't leave much room for the terrible two so...
Here they are in their new fav place... The sunny windowsill. How adorable that they ended up mirroring each others position.
Mauser here is doing his best to look cross at Maya as she uses his back as a scratching post lol...

Have a fabulous Wednesday and till next time... Happy Crafting

A little distraction is a good thing...

Its a lovely sunny morning by the sea today so I thought I'd make the most of the good natural light (so much better to craft by) and finish my June class. The ladies want to get a head start on their Christmas cards so with the sun shining I sat down to think all things snowy and Christmassy!

Only it didn't quite go to plan. Distracted by the good weather I found myself looking at the garden more than anything and then this caught my eye...

It was a gift from one of my lovely friends at Stamford when we moved here to the house by the sea. I have had it hanging in the window of my craft room since but today I thought it could do with a revamp.

On my desk is this little plastic pot of the butterflies from Beautiful Wings Embosslit folder. I always cut all the Butterflies out even if I only need one or two for a card so the rest go in here and then I have lots to hand ready for another project.
So take these two things and..... Voila. A fresh look to the heart.

I kept the colours to the blue/purple spectrum and addded pearls to the bodies of the larger ones. A few randomly placed rhinestones and a couple of  pieces of crochet trim tied to the edges and I was finished
Here it is hanging back in its rightful place. As you can see from the sunny picture it's not the day for thinking snow!!!

Hope you are all having a lovely day... Till next time Happy Crafting

WOYWW...

Well there's not much going on here this week.... It's time for another peek at my desk with this weeks WOYWW Its been a strange bank holiday and not much crafting has happened. My folks came up on Friday for the weekend so we took advantage of having them here to get some work done on the house.
Sat morning the Nutty one and I went out to get some supplies and on our way to the DIY store came across an accident. We stopped to help as the driver of the car had been thrown 50 or so metres into a nearby field. A couple of others who had seen the accident stopped too. The man was in a very bad way so I gave the Nutty one my cardigan to cover him up with and whilst I went to look for his dog. The Nutty one stayed and talked him to keep him concious till the ambulance arrived. Within minutes both land and air ambulances were on the scene. Unfortunately I got a phone call from one of the policemen in the afternoon to say the man died later in hospital, so as you can imagine it's not been a weekend for crafting. I am part way through a project for our bedroom and it has lain untouched on my desk since Friday eve.

As you can see the terrible two have taken full advantage of my empty chair to get some much needed rest... It's hard being a kitty you know lol

I hope you all had a very enjoyable Jubilee weekend and till next time.... Happy Crafting

A little me time....

It's been a busy month in the Nutty household and now that June is here (eeekk halfway through the year already?!) I can relax just a tiny bit. I still have one DD birthday to go and its the important one moving into teenage years so better not rest too much!

I have taken full advantage of the lull in class prep(well for a weekend at least) and now that Regional training is behind me, which means swaps are not needed for a while, I can finally play.

I love to play... It reminds me why I love my craft so much. Its very easy to get lost in the 'must do' of class prep. Playing is my time to just experiment and do some of the wonderful things I've seen out there. The last couple of days have definitely been CASE days. I've had a project in mind for ages and now was the time.

Thanks to the lovely Kirsteen for the tutorial. I had been thinking about making one of these for a while but with the new Simply Scored and the Diagonal Plate it is soooooo much easier.

For me Gray is the new Neutral... I've fallen in love with this colour so much recently. I used to be a 'Brown' girl but Gray is taking over and works so well with everything.
Once opened up you find 4 little tiered boxes which can hold just about anything and the beauty is once you close it up they all rest on top of each other so the contents don't spill out.
A close up of the lid with a little Crochet Trim, Antique Brad and of course the gorgeous Embosslits Butterfly to finish. To get the butterfly to sit at an angle I put a pearl in the centre of the lid and then used a glue dot on the back of the butterfly to adhere it to the pearl.

My next project is from the lovely Monica and she very kindly sent me the instructions via Skype. I was in the mood to do something 3d but wasn't sure what and so Monica rescued me. I made this that very day but have held off blogging till now so that Monica could blog hers.
As it was just for me I used the now retired SAB papers (I love them so much I have 5 unopened packs!) This lovely caddy holds individual tea bags beautifully.

I hope you are inspired to sit down and play. I still have a couple of 'play days' before it's back to the 'work' and prepping for Christmas in June!

Till next time.... Happy  Crafting
