WOYWW 171

Another Wed is upon us and it's time for a nose round the creative desks via the lovely Julia's blog and WOYWW.

This week I'm getting ready for the new year with SU and I'm updating my stamp bible. I got the idea for a stamp bible from my lovely friend Jeannie AKA the Crazy American when I visited her in Italy earlier this year. You stamp each of your stamps onto plain copy paper and then keep in a folder. It enables you to see at a glance which stamps you have. Jeannie has all her stamps in cases like the ones above and they are numbered so easy to find. I'm still working out the finer points of how I will label them all up but work has started and will be ongoing for some time I fear due to the amount of stamps I have. Yes my name is Emily and I have a stamp addiction lol.

This is also on my desk (look closely in the above photo, it's by the ribbons) and is the result of a mishap while trying my hand at brayering. This should have been the waste but it looks sooooo much prettier than the actual piece so it's waiting patiently for me to do something with it.... Suggestions would be fantastic.

Till next time - Happy Crafting

  1. Wow look at that desk...I love tidy desks. I did start to put my stamps in a file something like your doing but it's so time consuming that I gave up just don't have enough hours in the day!!?!! I have so many wooden stamps and clears that it seems too big a job. Hope that you get yours done it will make your life so much easier as you forget that you have some stamps that are in drawers etc.
keep up the good work...let us all know how you get on.

  3. Hi Emily thank you for popping by. I would have to hold on to your legs if you do come over to rummage in my deep dark cupboard!! Ha ha or you may never be seen again. I love the stamp catalogue idea. I think Stampin up folk are naturally tidy - my friend Alison is a Stampin up folk and she is very organised too. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 5

  4. I just love "happy accidents!" That piece looks fab and no one would know that it's "waste" - be interested to see the end result. Do share!

  5. Yes I also have a stamp bible (catalogue) and I have kept mine for about 10 years now and wouldn't give it up for the world. It is in a former post awhile back. I have my stamps categorized, it makes the locating easier. You do have a wonderful collection of stamping up supplies.
Thanks for sharing and happy stamping it is a long tedious task and well worth the end result. If you can just do them as you go along.

    1. I think we should all do a post with our 'addiction'. I too have a problem with ribbon, buttons and.... Oh dammit I just have a problem with anything remotely crafty lol

  10. Yeah, but LLJan hasn't got the rubber problem that you and I share...so she's probably slightly safer!! Like the brayered save, just begging for some scrolly images huh! ..are you using coated/glossy card...makes the brayering work a treat.

I tried brayering on glossy cardstock but I'm going to have to hold my hands up and declare myself 'Brayeringly challenged'lol

  11. You're amongst friends here Emily, we all have at least one addiction of some kind, most of us will admit to more than one! Are they all new stamps on your desk or are you just catching up? Love the brayered piece, on the odd occasion I'm messing about with inks I always mop up what's left to see if I can use it.

  12. You'll be so glad you have this when you're finished!! It was a good piece of advice I got when I was brand new. I'd hate to have to stamp all that now, with my collection, lol! Yikes!!!

And I'm not that crazy, thank you! Poorly yes, crazy not so much!
